The Portland personal injury law office of Shulman DuBois LLC is proud to announce that for the second year in a row, both Mr. Joshua Shulman and Mr. Sean DuBois have been selected by the magazine Super Lawyers as “Rising Stars” for 2010. This is an honor that less than 2 percent of eligible Oregon attorneys receive. Both Mr. Shulman and Mr. DuBois received this honor in 2009 as well.
Considering that only four Oregon lawyers were chosen as “Rising Stars” by Super Lawyers in the “Personal Injury – Plaintiff” category, Shulman DuBois LLC is honored that two of those attorneys are at its firm. Last year, in 2009, only five attorneys were selected in Oregon under this category.
Shulman DuBois LLC is pleased that 100% of the attorneys at its firm were included as “Rising Starts” for 2010. The “Rising Stars” feature in Super Lawyers magazine names the top up-and-coming lawyers in several U.S. states, including Oregon. The lawyers featured must be 40 years old or younger, or have been practicing law for 10 years or less. Published in all 50 states, Super Lawyers is read by over 13 million people, and serves as a rating service of outstanding and accomplished attorneys from more than 70 practices areas. The multi-phased selection process is for lawyers who have obtained significant professional achievement as well as a high degree of peer recognition. The process includes peer evaluations, peer nominations, and independent research.
Before his career in law, Mr. Shulman tried his hand at organic farming, teaching, and as a residential real estate developer. After graduating law school, Mr. Shulman worked at a financial planning company in Portland. The company specialized in fund management that personal injury victims received from settlements, and Mr. Shulman saw first-hand the enormous difference the compensation made in the quality of care they were able to have and their overall recovery. This experience led him to begin his own personal injury law practice, and later formed a partnership with Mr. DuBois. Mr. Shulman is a member of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association Presidents Circle, the American Association for Justice, as well as the Southern Poverty Law Center Leadership Council. He has also been published in Trial Lawyer magazine.
For a time, Mr. DuBois worked as a research diver at Florida Atlantic University’s Department of Ocean Engineering. After law school, Mr. DuBois worked for a time for a well-known personal injury attorney in Portland, but soon formed his own practice. While he was volunteering on an Oregon Trial Lawyers Association committee, he met Mr. Shulman, and the two decided to start a partnership. Mr. DuBois is a member of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, where he is also a Guardian of Justice member. Also, he has been published in Trial Lawyer magazine
